Welcome to my blog. I document short stories, devotions, my style, and family to assist you along this journey to wholeness.

Journey to Wholeness

The lines on my forehead tell of an intimately joyful story.

One of laughter, and tears, and Gods never ending glory.

The dark circles under my eyes, are not of the latest makeup trend.

They are the results of sleepless nights, waiting for God ordained days to begin.

The width of my hips, and the fullness of my lips, measurably compare to the joy found, while taking this trip.

This trip, much like the coils in my hair, has taken me from here, to there, around the corner and everywhere.

This journey to wholeness is a never-ending ride.

It takes me to the highest of heights, while there I had to die to my pride.

Letting go of what was, to embrace the what is,

a life of self-acceptance

now I may truly live.

Do we ever come to a point in our lives where we say, “I am complete, I am whole”? I don’t think so. What is the definition of being whole anyway? Personally, I can’t answer that, and I’m not quite sure I really want to right now. As I’ve been on this journey of self-discovery, I’ve learned that apart from God, I’m absolutely nothing. When I attempt to sojourn through this life alone, I end up lost every time. When I allow God to be my navigator, it works out every time. The journey set before us is a long one, so we had better make sure we bring along the best travel companion for the road ahead. Deuteronomy 31:6 reads “be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you, or forsake you”. Be strong friends, and embrace the road ahead.
